Turkish Folk Dance Department accepts 10 boys and 10 girls 20 students in total every year. Our department provides four years of under graduate education. There is no age limit for the applicants. Students, who are involved with Turkish Folk Dances and dance, have teamwork skills, graduated from high schools and their equivalents can apply for our department. Our graduates can find opportunity to be employed as educators at Public Education Centers, Music Teacher at Ministry of National Education, dancer at Ministry of Culture State Folk Dance Group or other Professional Dance Companies, Academicians at Universities.
Besides educating and training activities, with participation and contribution of our academic staff and students, our department creates a new stage project to meet with the audience every year. Our students participate in the studies as assistant trainers, dancers and musicians. The knowledge acquired by education and training, consolidates with stage performances and provides our students making creative studies in their careers. With the national and international events organized, new information has been produced and our culture has been contributed by transferring Turkish Folk Dances to the young generation.
With these events organized, big opportunities given to our students to put their knowledge into practice in their life, make friends, gain experience while their education.
Our department grows bigger every year by presenting rich heritage of our field in the national and international platforms, with the strength sustained by teamwork of our academic staff and students that open to artistic and scientific innovations and improvements.
